Fitment depends on your rim size. Both AP Racing and D1 Spec kits require a minimum rim diameter to clear the larger caliper and rotor โ€” generally 18 inches and above. WhatsApp us your car model and rim size and we'll confirm compatibility before you come in.
In most cases, no. The kit comes with everything needed for a direct swap โ€” caliper, rotor, pads, and braided hose. Some vehicles may require a brake line adaptor. We'll advise on this when you enquire. We also recommend a brake fluid flush when fitting a BBK to ensure the system is clean and performs as intended.
A full BBK installation typically takes 2โ€“3 hours. We'll confirm timing when you book so you can plan your day.
AP Racing is a British motorsport manufacturer used in F1, Le Mans, and WRC. Their Radi-CAL caliper is a forged monoblock design derived from their race programme โ€” it's the top of the range in terms of engineering and prestige. D1 Spec is a Japanese performance brand offering a very capable 4-pot kit at a significantly more accessible price. Both are a major step up from stock. AP Racing is for those who want no compromise; D1 Spec is an excellent first BBK upgrade.
A BBK alone doesn't change your alignment. However, if you're fitting a BBK alongside suspension changes, a Hunter Hawkeye alignment is included as part of that job. If it's a standalone BBK fitment, we'll advise based on your car's current setup when you come in.
Not at all โ€” the majority of our BBK customers are street drivers who want their car to look complete and feel better day to day. A big brake kit improves pedal feel on every drive, fills out the wheel arch visually, and gives you the option of a coloured caliper to match your build. You don't need to be doing track days to appreciate any of that.
